who we are

Founded in 2012, Anchor and Canvas is a design and build shop. Originally based in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, we relocated in 2021 to our current shop in Canarsie Brooklyn. We’re a small group with backgrounds in fabrication, art, architecture and project management, united by our commitment to quality and craftsmanship.

We work with designers, architects and end-users on one of a kind furniture pieces, small production runs, and complete build-outs. We pursue just a handful of projects at any given time which means that we can maintain close communication throughout the production process and attend to each project's specific requirements. Using quality materials and a mix of modern and traditional fabrication techniques, every piece we make is engineered with longevity in mind. We strive for a sustainable practice and use local woods, formaldehyde-free sheet goods, and no- or low-VOC finishes whenever possible and appropriate.
